London to Paris Bike Ride 2020

Get Your Perspiration On For Education!

Make this the year you take on the memorable and life-affirming cycle challenge – and do it for education!

Support AET and ride from London to Paris for a truly rewarding experience. It’s new friendships and camaraderie when you puncture. It’s pushing yourself to new limits. It’s arriving in Paris, exhausted but exhilarated, at the end.

You’ll spend four days in the saddle, cycling 308 miles from capital to capital. Your journey begins in London with the route taking you through picturesque English countryside as you travel through Kent to Dover, before crossing the Channel to Calias. Once you’ve crossed the water, you’ll start cycling the French way – remembering to keep to the right! Take the time to enjoy cycling through the quite French country lanes, through traditional market towns with snap worthy views of the rolling green hills of Northern France, passing the war memorials and cemeteries of the Somme.

London2Paris GC

Prepare yourself for the spectacular finish that awaits you as reach the home stretch up the Champs Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe, before reaching the piece de resistance, the Eiffel Tower, which marks the finish line! Whilst the days in the saddle may be long, the sense of achievement you’ll feel crossing the finish line and the knowledge of how many lives your challenge will impact will make it all worth it!

You don’t need to be superhuman to cycle from London to Paris. You do need determination and a sense of adventure. After that, it’s an achievable challenge that will create lasting memories – and directly fund our outreach projects and deliver education to those who desperately want to learn.

Support on the ride

You will ride in a group and be guided by trained event leaders, who will be able to give you mechanical and medical support should you need it.

Support vehicles will carry your luggage, so you only need to stick the essentials in a saddle bag, and you will be reunited with the rest of your luggage each evening.

Your transport, accommodation and meals are all provided so the only thing you need to be focused on is pedalling and the sheer enjoyment!

Is it for me?

If you’re reasonably fit, over 18 and up for a challenge, then yes! You’ll need to train in the run-up, in order to cycle around 75 miles per day for four days in a row, but with the right training this is a perfectly achievable challenge.

Transport (ferry crossing there; Eurostar back), accommodation, meals and luggage transportation are all covered by your registration fee and fundraising target – you don’t need to worry about extra costs leading up to the trip.

Solo riders welcome!

You’ll join a group of keen cyclists – there’s likely to be a range of ages and fitness levels. This challenge is a great way to meet like-minded people and make lasting friendships while you pedal away the miles, so don’t worry about joining on your own – there will be other solo riders too and they will gladly welcome you!

Or get friends involved!

This could be the opportunity to get a bunch of friends or colleagues together and collectively make the world a better place via education. Training rides with a group of people can make getting ready for the challenge much easier – especially when you’re reluctant to get out and get a few miles in your legs!

Whether you’re on your own or applying as a group, all are welcome.
